Headlines and Body Copy
Headlines are meant to be bold and unafraid. Therefore the preferred proportions of headline-to-body copy are intended to give the headlines a significantly larger, dominant presence on the page. There is no specific numerical value assigned to the ratio.
The most common typographic headline construction features the use of Franklin Gothic in ALL CAPS along with Bodoni in sentence case. In this construction, Franklin Gothic is the dominant typeface and is larger than Bodoni to emphasize key words or phrases.
Outlined headline type should only be used for Franklin Gothic, never for Bodoni. Outlines should remain thin in proportion to the size of the type.
