The monogram is a new addition to the University’s identity system.
It is not intended to be used on its own as a logo. It was created to work within this identity system as a shorthand expression of the full University name for specific situations. When used, it should remain in visual proximity to the full University name.
The monogram uses capital “VA” because that is the official abbreviation for the Commonwealth of Virginia and UVA is the flagship public University for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
