Administrative units are defined here as the offices and other units under the University president, provost, and chief operating officer. This includes pan-University programs and initiatives. Administrative units are separate from units within UVA schools; please see the page referring to school logos and the page of logos for departments/units within schools. Included in the administrative unit logo system are formal and informal versions. The system also includes the option for adding an office or department within an administrative unit. Administrative offices are not authorized to create their own logos using pieces of the University logo system. If you need a logo that is not shown or is not available for download on BrandDot, please fill out our logo request form. Please allow two business weeks for delivery of your logos. If you are unsure which logo you need, please write brand@virginia.edu.
Formal Horizontal
Use the formal horizontal logo for applications where your available space is large enough to accommodate it. Examples include letterhead, reports and website headings. These logos are recommended in cases where a degree of formality is appropriate.
Formal Vertical
Vertical logos are designed for applications where horizontal space is limited, but a degree of formality is appropriate. Examples include envelopes, brochures, and signs or banners.
Informal Horizontal
To achieve a slightly less formal feel, use the horizontal version of the administrative logo, which includes the UVA monogram.
Informal Vertical
To achieve a slightly less formal feel, use the vertical version of the administrative logo, which includes the UVA monogram.
Informal Horizontal Short
The horizontal short logo is the most informal option of all logos in this suite. It pairs the University monogram with a large and shortened version of an administrative unit’s name. This version is recommended for use on materials that warrant casual marks and for audiences that are already familiar with your unit.
